Meet Sakshi Bhadiya from the Bhilala tribal community of Madhya Pradesh. She runs a Tribal Art Gallery. This effort of his has given a new identity to the Pithora art of the village.
In the era of new fashion and 3D art, our old arts are disappearing. We do not even know the names of many tribal arts. Whereas in real sense these arts are our heritage. Today we are going to tell you about such a tribal daughter who along with herself has given a new identity to the traditional tribal art across the country.
We are talking about Sakshi Bhaiya, a resident of Jobat tehsil of Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Sakshi is running a Tribal Art Gallery in Indore. Along with this, being a part of the exhibitions held across the country, she presents her made items in front of the people.
Sakshi had a special interest in painting since childhood. She would often see people in the village doing traditional paintings on the walls of their houses. She would try to engrave these pictures on paper or cloth. When she went to Indore for studies, there too she used to paint whenever she got time.
Talking to The Better India, she told that she never thought that one day she would take up painting as her profession. When it came to making a career after studies, he decided to do business instead of a job.
He made small things by painting. Sakshi started this art gallery a year and a half ago by collecting funds from her relatives and friends. At that time he did not even tell his parents about this.
After this, she got a government card made as a tribal artist and started participating in exhibitions organized by the government.
Gradually people started liking the products made by this tribal daughter and her thinking behind it. Today Sakshi creates paintings depicting the tribal lifestyle on various items like home decor, dupattas, jackets.
Through this work, she is also providing employment to 10 more people.
Hope you must have liked this effort of Sakshi to save the dying tribal art of the country.
