    Traumatic accident in Rajasthan: Bus catches fire after collision with tanker, 12 people burnt alive

    Today 12 people were burnt alive in a collision between a bus and a tanker in Rajasthan’s Barmer. The killed people were in the bus which blew away after it collided with the tanker. Several people have also been injured in the incident and have been sent to the hospital for treatment. The district and police administration are present at the spot. According to the passengers, the accident took place due to the tanker coming on the opposite track.

    Accident happened on Barmer-Jodhpur highway

    According to media reports, this painful incident happened on the Barmer-Jodhpur highway in Barmer. Passengers aboard the bus told that the bus had left Balotra at around 10 am. After going some further a tanker came from the opposite direction and both of them had a fierce collision. The bus caught fire after the collision. Some people managed to get out by breaking the window, but others were trapped in this.

    25 passengers were on the bus at the time of the accident

    Around 25 people were on board the bus when the accident took place. Out of these, 12 people were burnt to death, while the rest were taken out on time. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police and district administration also reached the spot and helped in taking the passengers to the hospital. Local MLA Madan Prajapat and State Forest Minister Sukhram Bishnoi are also present at the spot. The bus completely burnt down in the incident.

    Chief Minister gave instructions to take necessary action

    Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot spoke to the District Magistrate in the matter and instructed to take all necessary steps. In a tweet, he said, “In connection with the bus-truck accident in Barmer, I have spoken to the District Collector, Barmer on the phone and have been directed regarding relief and rescue operations. The best treatment will be ensured to the injured.” Congress leader Sachin Pilot has also expressed grief over the incident by tweeting and prayed for the well being of the injured.

    Lok Sabha Speaker also expressed grief over the incident

    Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who comes from Rajasthan, has also expressed grief over the incident by tweeting. He wrote, “The death of many people in the road accident in Barmer is sad. Praying to God to give peace to the departed souls and give strength to the families to bear this loss. There is a wish for speedy recovery of the injured in the accident. Many other leaders have also expressed grief over the incident.

    Prime Minister announced compensation

    Expressing grief over the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also announced compensation for the affected. An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each will be given to the next of kin of the deceased from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, while Rs 50,000 each will be given to the injured.
