Kamal Bansal, chairman of the Delhi Government’s Pilgrimage Development Committee, said that from April 14, the train journey will start once again, on this day the train will leave from Safdarjung railway station for Rameswaram. After that on April 17, people will get a chance to visit the Dwarkadhish pilgrimage site. He told that a train is being sent to Shirdi on April 20. Rameshwaram train will go again on 24th April. The train will leave for Dwarkadhish on 26 April and Tirupati Balaji pilgrimage site on 29 April. So far, about 52 thousand people have taken advantage of this scheme and they have got a chance to visit pilgrimage sites.
The Delhi Government had launched the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana on 12 July 2019, the first train was sent from Delhi to Amritsar. Most trains have left for Rameswaram. Women constitute more than 68% of the pilgrims. The government says that the number of trains would have been more but due to Corona, this journey was stopped for a long time.
