Patna,(His). North East Express (train number 2506) going from Anand Vihar to Kamakhya in Assam met with an accident at 9:35 pm last night near Raghunathpur railway station in Buxar district of Bihar. In which the deaths of 5 people have been confirmed so far. More than 70 passengers have been injured in the accident.
Buxar District Magistrate Anshul Aggarwal has confirmed the death of 4 people. At the same time, the police engaged in relief work confirmed that one more body has been recovered, taking the number of dead to five. Bhojpur District Magistrate Rajkumar said that 70 passengers were injured in the accident. Eyewitnesses have said that around 100 passengers were injured.
GM of East Central Railway Anupam Sharma said that alternative arrangements were made to take the passengers of the accident train to their destination. A rake was rushed to the spot and arrangements were made to transport the North East Express passengers to their destination.
GM Anupam Sharma and DRM Jayant Kumar Chaudhary of Danapur Railway Division reached the spot with the team. Relief work is going on. Relief vehicles, rescue train crane and medical teams are continuously working on the spot. NDRF-SDRF teams are reaching the spot.
State Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said in a tweet that Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Disaster Management Department, Bihar, Pratyaya Amrit is monitoring the relief, rescue and logistics collection and all other arrangements along with officials of the Health and Disaster Management Department in the control room. The hospital is on alert. Tolls in the district have been made free for vehicles.
Some trains on this route stopped, some diverted
CPRO of East Central Railway said that after the accident, all the trains on this route have been stopped at nearby stations. The routes of many trains have been diverted. Seemanchal Express has been stopped at Dildar Nagar, Guwahati Capital Danapur. Vibhuti, Punjab Mail and other trains have been sent to Kiul through another route from Varanasi.
The reasons for the accident are not yet known. Patna-Delhi Rajdhani Express, Sampoorna Kranti, and Rajendranagar Ajmer Ziyarat Express had passed through here shortly before the train crashed. In such a situation, technical experts are predicting point failure.
