Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP has claimed 6.3 per cent votes in its very first civic polls in Madhya Pradesh. The AAP had fielded around 1,500 candidates for the posts of councilors in urban bodies, of whom 40 won, while 135 to 140 came second.
A party leader claimed that AAP-backed candidates won 10 posts of district panchayat members, 23 district members, 103 sarpanches and 250 panchs in the panchayat polls held on non-party basis.
