Chaudhary Charan Singh’s father Chaudhary Mir Singh had inherited his moral values to Charan Singh. He was an Indian farmer politician and the fifth Prime Minister of India. He held this post from 28 July 1979 to 14 January 1980. He worked to make the whole of India an agricultural country and gave India the status of an agricultural country. Chaudhary Charan Singh dedicated his entire life to the dignity of Indianness and rural environment and today 23 December is celebrated as Farmer’s Day in India.
