This session will begin in the old Parliament building and conclude in the new building. On the second day, after the puja, entry will be made into the new Parliament building and a joint meeting of both the houses can also be held. Along with this journey of shifting of Parliament proceedings from the old to the new building, this special session can also witness a change in the dress of the employees.
According to sources, the dress of the Parliament House staff will also be seen changed. A new uniform has been designed for the employees of Parliament House. This dress has been designed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology i.e. NIFT. The uniform of secretariat employees will be changed from closed neck suit to magenta or dark pink Nehru jacket. Their shirts will also be dark pink with a lotus flower on them and they will wear khaki colored pants.
Marshal’s dress will also change
The dress of marshals of both the houses of Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, will also change with this special session. It is said that in this special session of Parliament, the marshals of both the houses will wear Manipuri turban. Till now the security staff of Parliament House have been wearing safari suits. Now he will be seen in camouflage dress like a commando.
Congress raised questions on dress code
Opposition Congress has raised questions on the new dress of Parliament House employees. Congress MP and Chief Whip of the party in the Lok Sabha, Manickam Tagore has tweeted and asked why only the lotus flower? Why can’t there be peacock and tiger? He further wrote sarcastically that oh, these are not BJP’s election symbols. Tagore has also asked Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla why this decline?
