Seeing the appeal made in Assamese language to the legislators to maintain decorum in the house, the Speaker started speaking in his mother tongue Bodo as well.
Soon after the commencement of the assembly proceedings, there was a ruckus in the House. The opposition and ruling MLAs made allegations and counter allegations during a reply to a question related to the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
Daimary urged the MLAs to maintain decorum and let the proceedings go smoothly.
When repeated appeals were ignored by the MLAs, the Speaker said that he was giving 10 minutes to the members to continue their ‘qazia’ (fight) and speak as per their wish and they would not interfere.
When the commotion did not subside, Daimary once again reminded the legislators at the end of the fifth minute that he would not allow any proceedings to be taken on record during that period if the noise intensified.
On completion of ten minutes, the normal proceedings of the House resumed and went on smoothly for 30 minutes. After this, there was a ruckus once again.

Unable to understand Daimari’s words in the Bodo language, several legislators put on their headphones to listen to the Assamese translation. There is a provision for this in the Legislative Assembly.
When the commotion subsided, Daimary again requested the MLAs to cooperate with them for the smooth functioning of the House and resuming the proceedings.
