In the presence of party general secretary Tarun Chugh and MP Vinod Chavda, he joined the BJP at the BJP headquarters.
Welcoming Raika into the BJP family, Chugh alleged that the Gujarat unit of the Congress, like its central leadership, has become leaderless, directionless and policyless.
Terming Raika’s joining BJP as an important milestone in Gujarat politics, he said, “Now there is no one left in Congress… A big face has joined BJP today.” His experiences will further increase the BJP’s base.
On this occasion, Raika said that he was working in Congress for 46 years, but today there is a leadership crisis in Congress.
He said, “What is the decision to be taken? how to work There is no place for it.
He alleged that the Congress is taking actions and arbitrary decisions against the party constitution.
He said that there was lack of consultation in the appointment of the new State Congress President Jagdish Thakor.
Raika said that Congress leaders have turned away from the people and there was no much hope in the Congress, so he decided to join the BJP.
He said, “The way development is happening in the country today, the kind of schemes being run, I also thought that I should also contribute in some way.”
Significantly, Sagar Raika has been one of the veteran leaders of North Gujarat. He is considered a leader with a strong hold on the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community.
