Due to this, rail traffic is at a standstill in Delhi to Amritsar, Pathankot to Amritsar and Punjab to Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Ludhiana to Moga, Firozpur, Fazilka etc. Farmers say that floods and rains have caused huge damage to crops. Therefore, at least compensation of Rs 50 thousand per acre should be given to the farmers. Center should give Rs 50 thousand crore to Punjab to compensate for the damage caused by floods.

Amritsar-New Delhi Shatabdi was run from Ludhiana today, while Amritsar-Nanded Sachkhand Express was run from Ambala. Similarly, Shaan-e-Punjab was flagged off from Ludhiana. Amritsar-New Delhi Superfast has been cancelled.
