Mathura. Manmohan, a second year BA Psychology student of Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, has brought laurels to his family and the university by winning the gold medal in the Haryana Youth Boxing Championship. The medal was achieved after winning five bouts in the 75 kg weight category. About 450 youth boxers from Haryana participated in the Haryana Youth Championship-2023. All the officials and teachers, including Chancellor of the University Dr. Sachin Gupta, expressed happiness and congratulated Manmohan Singh on his victory. Giving information after winning the gold medal, Manmohan said that at the age of 13, he started going to the boxing academy to get rid of childhood obesity. In the academy, he felt that his trend moved towards boxing. Manmohan, a resident of village Banachari in Palwal Haryana, said that he is taking boxing education and training from renowned national coach and multiple medalist Ashok Singh Sorot from his own academy, Subhash Chandra Bose Sports Academy. Manmohan’s father Shyamvirji does farming. Uncle Baburamji and grandfather Nandlalji are in the Haryana Police. Manmohan has two elder sisters. The whole family lives together. He has full support from his family for his sports and studies. Teacher of Culture University, Mohd. Faheem told that Manmohan’s desire is to play for the country in boxing. Manmohan has no other hobbies apart from studies and his sports. He told that he does his practice for one and a half hours in the morning and three and a half hours in the evening, the rest of the time he concentrates on studies.
