At present, excess water is flowing through 24 gates in the Mahanadi downstream areas of the state, which were ravaged by heavy rains for the past few days. Engineer Mishra said that about six lakh cusecs of water would reach Mundali in Cuttack district on Sunday morning while seven lakh cusecs of water would reach at 8 am on Monday.
