Meanwhile, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that an inquiry has been ordered in the matter and the guilty will not be spared if norms are violated. However, the Congress has demanded an independent and judicial inquiry alleging illegal mining.
Another body was found by the relief and rescue teams late Saturday night, the official said. He said that the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) handed him over to the administration. This dead body is being told of the machine operator, who hails from Punjab.
NDRF Deputy Director BR Meena said that due to increased fog late Saturday night, relief and rescue operations were hampered in Dadam. He said a huge stone was obstructing the relief and rescue operation. He told that there is news of another driver being buried here.
He said that three big stones were broken by blasting on Sunday and now the work of removing the stones is being started again. Relief and rescue teams have not yet descended to the mine below.
Till Sunday morning, despite six machines working continuously, only half of the debris could be removed from the site. Late night, the team had indicated that people were buried at more than four places, but there was no signal from the machine to be alive there.
It is worth mentioning that it is about 30 km from the district headquarter. A painful accident occurred on Saturday in the mining area in village Dadam of far sub-division Tosham. Four laborers were killed in this accident while the condition of two laborers is critical. It is believed that even now some people may be buried under the stones. Four Poklane machines, two hall machines, two tractors and six trolleys and dumpers were buried under the stones after the accident. In this, teams of NDRF, HDRF and Army are engaged in rescue work.
Meanwhile, after inspecting the spot, BJP MP from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, Dharambir Singh, alleging violation of norms related to mining, said that he urged Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to order a thorough investigation into the landslide and its causes. so that such incidents do not recur.
However, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Panchkula, the Chief Minister said that he has already directed the Mining Department to find out whether the norms prescribed for mining at the site were violated.
“If any violation is found, action will be taken,” he said.
Meanwhile, Congress’ Haryana unit president Kumari Selja on Sunday demanded a judicial inquiry into the matter and said it should be monitored by a sitting Supreme Court judge as it is needed “to expose the mining scam”.
He said that the Congress party demands financial assistance of Rs.25 lakh each for the next of kin of those killed in the incident and Rs.10 lakh each for the injured.
Holding the BJP-JJP government responsible for the entire tragedy, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda on Saturday alleged that a “scam of thousands of crores” had taken place in the Dadam mining area.
Senior Congress leader and MLA from Tosham Kiran Choudhary has demanded an independent investigation alleging illegal mining in the area.
Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala had also alleged that illegal mining was going on under the Khattar regime and asked the BJP government who was responsible for these deaths.
Trinamool Congress leader Ashok Tanwar has also demanded an inquiry into the matter.
