Rajasthan is the most infamous in cases of atrocities against women. According to the NCRB data, Rajasthan has the highest number of rape cases in the country. Although the police claims that 43 percent of the cases registered are found to be false, but some incidents in the past have put humanity to shame. On Tuesday, a deaf and mute minor girl in Alwar was harassed like Delhi’s ‘Nirbhaya’. He was thrown down the overbridge after the gang rape. To save his life, doctors referred him from Alwar to Jaipur, where he was operated on on Wednesday during treatment.
The Ashok Gehlot government of the state is being put in the dock for the excesses committed with this ‘Nirbhaya’ of Alwar and the increasing atrocities on women. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has said that daughters in the state are falling prey to the lust of the poor, but the government has become zero. However, so far no statement of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has come on this matter, nor has the reaction of State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra come to the fore. Let us tell you that four days ago in Bharatpur also a minor victim of gang rape had committed suicide by consuming poison. Both these incidents have shaken the common man.
Women in Rajasthan are the most vulnerable in the entire country. This is being said by quoting the data of NCRB. In statistics, Rajasthan ranks first in rape cases. In the data released last year, a total of 5 thousand 310 cases of domestic violence were registered in the state. These figures are almost double that of UP which is generally facing notoriety in terms of crime.
Nirbhaya-like cruelty happened in Alwar
The gangrape incident in Alwar on the night of Tuesday 11 January reminded yet again the wounds of Delhi’s Nirbhaya incident. The criminals attacked the delicate parts of the victim with sharp weapons. Presently the victim is admitted in JK Lawn Hospital, Jaipur. The team of doctors has now performed surgery to save him.
needle of suspicion rests on private bus
To investigate the incident, the police are scanning the CCTV footage from around the spot. In the CCTV footage, a private bus is seen leaving the Tijara gate overbridge at 7:00 pm. The victim was not at the spot till that time. The victim was found under the overbridge after the bus passed by. In such a situation, the police officers are busy in locating that private bus.
SIT formed under the leadership of SP for investigation
IG Sanjay Khotriya has constituted SIT to investigate this gangrape incident. SIT team is investigating under the direction of SP. An Additional SP, 3 Deputy SPs and 6 Inspectors have been included in the SIT. IG Sanjay Khotriya also visited the spot.
Financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh 50 thousand under the Retaliation Scheme
To help the rape victims, financial assistance is given by the state government through the retaliation scheme. Under this scheme 2 lakh 50 thousand were given to the families of the girl victims of gang rape. Industries Minister Shakuntala Rawat, Women and Child Development Minister Mamta Bhupesh and Chairperson of Child Rights Protection Commission Sangeeta Beniwal met the family members and inquired about the condition of the victim from the doctors. The Chairperson of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Sangeeta Beniwal has recommended the district administration to get financial assistance of Rs 1.5 lakh.
BJP took a dig at the Congress government
After these shocking incidents of gang rape, BJP has attacked the Congress government. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said that this incident of cruelty has not only brought shame to Rajasthan but has exposed the lax law and order situation of the Congress government. Government has gone to zero. Raje wrote in his tweet that the atrocities on daughters in Rajasthan cannot be tolerated, synonymous with women’s self-respect. In the case of crime against women, the Congress government should take strict measures to make Rajasthan, which has become number 1 in the country, free from exploitation. On the other hand, Leader of Opposition Rajendra Singh Rathod said that the incident of committing the brutal gang-rape of a deaf and mute minor in Alwar under the nose of the Rajasthan government is less than condemned. The state does not have a full-time Home Minister for 3 years. Ashok Gehlot, the head of the state, is responsible for the poor law and order situation in Rajasthan.
