Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said on social media that NDRF and SDRF teams are carrying out the rescue operation. About 500 people have been rescued so far. Two units of the army have arrived for relief and rescue. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in many parts of Maharashtra including Nagpur even today. There is an alert of heavy rain in 18 states including Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Rain quota completed in Madhya Pradesh and Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon has completed its quota in Madhya Pradesh and Delhi. Madhya Pradesh received an average rainfall of 923 mm from September 1 to September 22. It has received 927.5 mm of rain. There should have been 531.3 mm rainfall in Delhi. Till September 22, 532.3 mm of rain has fallen.
Red alert for rain has been issued in 4 districts of Bihar. There is yellow alert in 7 districts. Intermittent rain for the last two days has given relief to people from the heat. However, Bihar has received 28% less rainfall than average so far. From June 1 to September 22, there should have been 938.6 mm rainfall in Bihar, but only 671.4 mm rainfall has occurred. The weather is likely to change again after September 24.
