New Delhi (EMS). Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has called industrial centers and single GST rate essential for MSME protection. He shared a video of his visit to Modi’s Chocolates in Ooty on Sunday and said that it is a remarkable testimony to the great potential of India’s MSMEs and to build an industrial hub and implement a single GST rate. During this, Rahul Gandhi also made chocolate with his own hands, whose video he has also shared on social media. During this, Rahul said that we should stand for the protection of MSMEs, who have the potential to run India’s growth engine. In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi said that a team of 70 women runs one of the famous chocolate factories in Ooty. The story of Modi’s Chocolates is a remarkable testimony to the great potential of India’s MSMEs.

He also shared the link of his visit to the chocolate factory. The Congress leader said amidst the picturesque Nilgiris are the globally famous Indian industries, the chocolate makers of Ooty. While visiting Wayanad recently, I had the pleasure of visiting one of the most famous brands in Ooty, Modi’s Chocolates. The entrepreneurship of Muralidhar Rao and Swati, the couple behind this small business, is inspiring.
Rahul Gandhi said that the all-women team that works with him is equally remarkable. Hitting out at the government over the Goods and Services Tax (GST), he said that however, Modi’s, like countless other small and medium businesses across India, is grappling with the burden of the Gabbar Singh Tax. In such a scenario, it seems that the government favors big companies by hurting the MSME sector, it is the patience of hard working Indians like the women I met here, that sustains India’s growth. Creating industrial hubs and implementing a single GST rate are imperative measures to protect MSMEs, who collectively have the power to drive India’s growth engine, Rahul said.
