The Chief Minister also suggested the formation of clusters of five to six surrounding villages by setting up Mohalla Clinics at a central location, which is easily accessible to all. He said that this would help in bringing most of the people living in rural areas under the ambit of Mohalla Clinics. The Secretary, Health and Family Welfare apprised the Chief Minister about the existing network of about 3000 sub-centres in rural areas in which trained paramedical staff headed by Community Health Officers is being efficiently managed.

The Chief Minister also proposed to convert these sub-centres into Mohalla Clinics, thus expanding its scope and reach, so that more and more people living in villages can benefit from the health care initiative.
