    Pollution blurred life in Delhi-NCR, first Delhi and now school lock in many districts of Haryana

    The states around it including Delhi are troubled by the increasing pollution. The effect of air pollution is increasing and life is becoming blurred. After Delhi, the government of Haryana has also come into action regarding pollution. The Haryana government has ordered the closure of all government and non-government schools in Delhi’s adjoining Faridabad and Gurugram as well as Sonepat and Jhajjar districts. The government has also announced a ban on all types of construction activities in these districts. The government said that this order has come into force with immediate effect and will be effective till November 17. The decision comes a day after the Delhi government decided to suspend physical classes for a week from November 15 to protect children from the adverse effects of pollution.

    Government urged to work from home

    The Haryana government took this decision after the Meteorological Department’s estimate that a similar situation has been predicted for a week. On the lines of Delhi government, Haryana government has also advised government employees to work from home. The government has also advised private companies to take employees to work from home. The Delhi government has also asked government departments to work from home for 100 per cent and urged private offices to work from home as much as possible for a week. Apart from this, the Haryana government has set a target of reducing the number of vehicles on the road by 30 percent. The Haryana government has also given instructions that strict pollution checks should be done for vehicles older than 10 or 15 years. The Haryana government has also given instructions to confiscate polluting vehicles. Vehicle emissions will be strictly checked.

    Supreme Court has also expressed concern

    A complete ban on construction work will also remain in force in Haryana’s Gurugram, Faridabad, Jhajjar and Sonipat. Stone crushers, hot mix plants will also remain closed and municipal bodies will not be able to burn garbage. The sweeping of brooms on the roads has also been banned. Water sprinkling has been ordered on the roads. The Haryana government has also asked to constitute a committee to ensure that the rules are followed. The pollution situation in Delhi and adjoining areas including Gurugram has worsened in the last few days. On Friday, the air quality index reached 471, the worst level of the season. The Supreme Court on Saturday expressed concern over the situation and said that people are wearing masks even inside their homes. Significantly, after Diwali, the air condition in Delhi NCR kept deteriorating.
