Addressing the presiding officers’ conference held in Shimla on the previous day, Prime Minister Modi said that there is a perception growing among the common people that there is only splatter, manipulation and upheaval in politics, due to which the confidence of the common people is decreasing in politics. Now politicians have to rise above politics and create something new and creative and qualitative thinking to deal with this situation and increase the confidence in politics among the people. Further, the PM said that – often some people make such an image about politicians and public representatives that if he is a leader, he is busy in political upheaval for 24 hours or will be involved in any manipulation or tussle. It is worth noting that in every political party, there are many such people’s representatives who spend their time beyond politics in the service of the society for the upliftment of the people of the society.
Prime Minister Modi said that the service work of these leaders, who have different thinking from the common leaders, awakens the faith and confidence of the people in politics. Giving the example of such leaders, he said that such public representatives should be heard in the houses. Because such leaders rise above politics, some private bills or some people take out time for zero hour in the houses. The experiences of the elected representatives should be listened to seriously. People are getting away from politics and if people’s representatives working for the society are encouraged, then people’s interest in politics will increase. I suggest that a small committee may be formed to take this work forward. This will also inspire other politicians and the countrymen will get information about them.

The Prime Minister also said that the members should also avoid political slang. New leaders should be trained to know the rules of the house, for this new parameters of politics should also be created. He said that the role of presiding officers becomes important in this regard. He said that he wishes that all our Legislative Assemblies and State and Lok Sabhas should be networked. I would like all our assemblies to take this campaign to a new height by adopting the system of ‘One Nation One Legislative Platform’. I have an idea that such a digital platform should be made such a portal which not only gives technological push to our parliamentary system but also works to connect all democratic values.
