New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today participated in the Investor Summit in Gujarat through video conferencing. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani were also present in this summit.
PM Modi launched the National Automobile Scrappage Policy. He said that this policy is going to give a new identity to the auto sector of New India. He said that this policy will play a big role in removing unfit vehicles in the country in a scientific manner.
PM Modi said that the new scrapping policy will carry forward the mantra of Waste to Wealth. The PM said that the next 25 years are very important for the country, according to the way technology is changing, we have to make changes. We are also facing the challenge of climate change, so it is necessary to take big steps in our interest.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that a certificate will be available for the scrapped vehicle, a discount on registration money will be available on buying a new vehicle and a rebate on road tax will also be available. PM Modi said that the vehicles will be scrapped after scientifically tested, then further process will be done.
PM Modi said that the auto-metal industry will get a boost from this scheme, as well as people working in the field of scrapping will get a big benefit. PM Modi said that the people of the industry should have a roadmap for self-reliant India for the coming 25 years. The old policies will have to be changed and the new policy will have to be worked on.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that whether it is ethanol, hydrogen fuel or electric mobility, with these priorities of the government, active participation of the industry is very important. From R&D to infrastructure, the industry has to increase its stake. Whatever help you need for this, the government is ready to give it.
Let us tell you that this type of investor summit is organized every year in Gujarat, which was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. In this program held on Friday, a total of seven companies have signed MoU with the government. These include 6 companies from Gujarat and one from Assam.
