CM Yogi said that these airports are being established in such areas, which were left out due to some reasons in the race for development. Shravasti, Sonbhadra and Chitrakoot are aspirational districts. These areas will be developed due to air connectivity from here. The contract letter was exchanged on behalf of the UP government between Chief Secretary SP Gopal and Airport Authority of India Chairman AK Pathak.
CM Yogi said on this occasion that the state is soon going to become a state with five international airports. At present there are international airports in Varanasi, Kushinagar and Lucknow. Construction work is going on in Jewar and Ayodhya. Before the year 2017, Lucknow and Varanasi had airports only. Gorakhpur and Agra had partially functional airports. At that time air service was available from 4 airports to 25 places. Today operation is going on at 9 airports. Working on 10. There is air connectivity from 75 places.
