Harish Rawat admitted that there was a political discussion between the two leaders. He said, ‘ We are not a saint. When political people meet, there is bound to be political talk. But, when asked whether the party high command had sent him to Patna on some special mission, he refused to comment on it. This long-delayed meeting between the two leaders is being considered as a sequel to the recent meeting between Rahul Gandhi and Kumar. Rawat’s close friends said that this meeting was done to strengthen the opposition unity in view of the preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Recently, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also met Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. This meeting was made historic by both Rahul Gandhi and Kharge. Now after this many speculations are being made regarding the meeting of Harish Rawat and Nitish Kumar in Patna.
