New Delhi. President Ram Nath Kovind honored 141 people with Padma Awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Padma awards, the highest civilian honor after Bharat Ratna in the country, were distributed in the historic Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. People doing excellent work in various fields were felicitated in this grand ceremony. During this, Home Minister Amit Shah was also present along with Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This time the awards are being given for two years. In this, 141 people were honored with Padma awards for the year 2020 today and 119 people on Tuesday for 2021.

29 women among Padma awardees
7 Padma Vibhushan for the year 2020, 16 people with Padma Bhushan and 118 people with Padma Shri were honored at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. Among the awardees are 29 women, 16 posthumous award winners and 1 transgender awardee.

Padma Vibhushan to Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj posthumously
Former Union Minister Arun Jaitley was posthumously awarded Padma Vibhushan, President handed over the award to his wife Sangeeta Jaitley. At the same time, former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan posthumously. His daughter received this award.
