Absconded after getting off an accused car

Garhmukteshwar, Kotwali police arrested an accused with a stolen car during night patrolling. One of the arrested accused absconded from the spot. It has come to light that the absconding accomplice of the accused had stolen the concerned car from Delhi. Police has registered a report against the arrested accused and has intensified the search for his absconding accomplice. Kotwali in-charge Inspector Somveer Singh said that the police was patrolling the area on Friday night. Meanwhile, the informer informed the police about the arrival of two people in a stolen car from Meerut. On information, the police started checking vehicles on the Meerut road. When a car was signaled to stop during checking, its driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle. The police chased him and caught him. But one of the accused fled from the spot. The arrested accused is Lalchand Chaurasia, a resident of village Daulatpur Mahmudpur, police station Baskhari, district Ambedkar Nagar. On checking the documents of the car recovered from the accused, it was found that the car was in the name of Akramul, a resident of MJ College, Behind Railway Road, Malda, West Bengal. But the chassis number of the vehicle in the document is different from the current one. Seeing whom the police strictly interrogated the accused, he told that he lives with Mujjamil Hayat, who lives in Dautai village of Kotwali area, for the last several days. Mujjimal got down from the car and ran away. The vehicle in question was stolen by Muzzamil from Delhi. The police registered a report against the accused and raided to find his absconding accomplice, but could not find any clue of the absconding accused. The in-charge inspector said that the absconding accused would be arrested soon.
