Bhubaneswar (AMS). Trains will not stop at Bahanaga Bazar railway station for the purpose of investigation of the Central Bureau of Investigation i.e. CBI Odisha train accident. The triple train accident took place on the evening of June 2 near Bahanaga Bazar railway station. 288 people lost their lives in this accident. The CBI probing the gruesome train accident has sealed the equipment and record room at Bahanaga Bazar railway station, so the station will remain sealed till the probe is completed.
Chief PRO of South Eastern Railway, Aditya Kumar Chowdhary said that no train will stop at the station until the CBI gives the green signal to the railway officials. Chowdhary said the CBI has sealed the station after seizing log books, relay panels and other equipment. He said the relay interlocking panels have been sealed, restricting staff access to the signaling system. No passenger or goods train will stop at Bahanaga Bazar until further notice, while around 170 trains cross the Bahanaga Bazar railway station daily. Only passenger trains like Bhadrak-Balasore MEMU, Howrah Bhadrak Baghajatin Fast Passenger and Kharagpur Khurda Road Fast Passenger stop at the station for one minute.
According to media reports, out of 288 passengers killed in the train accident, 207 bodies have been identified and handed over to their relatives. The remaining 81 bodies are at the AIIMS-Bhubaneswar mortuary. The claimants are waiting for the DNA test report. After DNA matching, the bodies will be handed over to the real family members. According to the officials, all the unclaimed dead bodies will be cremated under the scientific process.
