‘You used to have a list…’
Patra said, ‘I remember that for the first time AAP government was formed in Delhi in 2014, even then Arvind Kejriwal used to come on TV and say that none of you should tolerate corruption. If there is corruption somewhere then call this phone number, I am sitting, I will catch those people and all corrupt people will be behind bars. He didn’t leave anyone. He had a briefcase about Sheila Dikshit, from there he had a list of 13 people like Lalu Prasad Yadav.
The BJP leader further said, ‘Today we are going to disclose something based on facts. The first term of the Arvind Kejriwal government was from 28 December 2013 to 13 February 2014. The anti-corruption helpline was launched by Arvind Kejriwal himself on 8 January 2014. The number was- 011-27357169. It was claimed that thousands of phone calls are coming to this number. Arvind Kejriwal himself had said this.
Helpline numbers tell
Patra further said, ‘The second term of the AAP government was from 2015 to 2020. The new helpline number was launched again on 5th April 2015. That number was 1031. This number was operated under the Vigilance Department of Delhi Government. It was said that the Vigilance Department would keep an eye on this and whatever calls would come, the Vigilance Department would send it to the ACB for action. At that time the ACB was under the Vigilance Department. There was a lot of advertisement on this too. Such an atmosphere was created that Arvind Kejriwal has launched a grand campaign against corruption. After that the ACB left the Vigilance Department.
Elaborating on the allegations, Patra said that when the ACB was snatched from him, AAP held a press conference and kept the figures and said that 1.25 lakh calls were received on 1031. It was told that most of the calls were from four-five departments like MCD Police, Transport Department, Delhi Jal Board. Based on these calls, 152 officers have been suspended and 35 officers arrested.
At the same time, Gupta referred to the allegations against Satyendra Jain. He said, “Properties worth Rs 5 crore of Delhi’s staunchly honest Chief Minister Kejriwal ji’s friend and Delhi government minister Satendra Jain, which he had bought from hawala traders in the name of fake companies, were confiscated.”
