Hapur. Activists of Rashtriya Backward Class Morcha have criticized the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission for not applying 27 percent reservation to OBCs in the recruitment of Gram Panchayat Officer posts, not fixing reservation for OBCs as per rules and only 06 lakh eligible OBC students in Uttar Pradesh. A memorandum addressed to His Excellency the Governor of Uttar Pradesh was submitted to the SDM in protest against the denial of scholarship and fee reimbursement to the girl students.
Demanding through memorandum, it was told that Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has advertised for total 1468 posts for the post of Gram Panchayat Officer in the state, 849 seats for general candidates, 117 seats for EWS, 139 seats for OBC 356 7 for SC and 7 for ST. As per norms OBCs should get 27 per cent reservation which comes to around 396 posts when total posts are 1,468 but as per advertisement only 139 posts are reserved for OBCs which
It is only 9.5 percent which is injustice to OBCs. Therefore, 27 percent reservation should be implemented for OBCs in the above recruitment. According to the news of a daily newspaper, Backward Classes Welfare Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Narendra Kashyap accepted that in the current session, 06 lakh OBC eligible students in Uttar Pradesh have been deprived of scholarship and fee reimbursement due to lack of proper budget. In which there are five lakh poor OBC students studying above high school and one lakh poor OBC students studying below high school. That’s why we demand that the fees compensation and scholarship be paid to the students immediately.
Regarding all these demands, the National Backward Classes Front has declared a three-phase agitation.
Under which, in the first phase today, on May 24, a memorandum was submitted to His Excellency the Governor from all the 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. In the second phase of the movement, a state-wide protest-demonstration will be held on May 31 and in the third phase, a state-wide rally-demonstration will be held on June 15.
The workers told that despite this, if the demands are not fulfilled, then Uttar Pradesh bandh will be called.
Chaudhary Pramod Patrick, Geeta Patrick, Mithilesh, Reena Verma, Chaudhary Devendra Singh etc were present on this occasion.
