Dhampur. Illegal encroachments were removed from many places in the city by running a campaign by the municipality. During the campaign, the campaign had to be stopped midway due to one person’s protest and altercation. Under the leadership of Executive Officer Subhash Kumar, challans were issued to some shopkeepers at the roadways bus stand and the illegal encroachment was also removed. The municipal administration instructed the illegal encroachers not to encroach. The executive officer said that every two days a campaign to remove encroachments will be conducted in the city. He said that the campaign will also be run in the markets and illegal encroachments on both sides of the road from Nagina Chowk to RSM Degree College will also be removed. He said that if the encroacher himself does not remove the encroachment, action will be taken against him. He has also instructed sand and gravel sellers not to encroach on the road. The encroachment removal campaign was going on smoothly from roadways to Punjabi Colony. An altercation broke out between the encroacher and the municipal administration over the demolition of a platform near Axis Bank. The owner of the building said that if you wanted to be removed, you had to inform me first by giving a notice. Why did you destroy the place without giving any notice? The conversation turned into a very heated discussion regarding this. Even the police area officer stood with the police force and Municipality Chairman Chaudhary Ravi Kumar Singh also came to the spot. He said that if you want to remove encroachment then first serve and give notice and only then do the demolition. Chairman Chaudhary Ravi Kumar Singh pacified the matter.
