Ranchi (Hindustan Reporter) Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Prasad Sahu on Friday reacted for the first time to the Income Tax Department’s raid and recovery of cash from his locations. He said that this amount belongs to his firm.
Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu said that what is happening today makes me sad. I can accept that the money that has been recovered belongs to my firm, the cash that has been recovered belongs to my liquor firms. He said that it is related to the sale of liquor. This money has nothing to do with Congress or any other political party, as is being said. He said that all this money is not mine, it belongs to my family and other related firms. MP Dheeraj Sahu, while giving an interview to a news agency, has expressed his views regarding the raid by the Income Tax Department. First of all, while giving information about his background, he said that I have been in active politics for about 30-35 years and this is the first such incident. He said that I always wanted that there should be no controversy over me, but now that controversy has arisen, I want to give information about myself and my family.
Referring to his brother, MP Sahu said that we have done a lot of development work. Be it Ranchi, Lohardaga or any other place. He said that our father late. Rai Saheb Baldev Sahu also did a lot of social service work. Colleges and schools have been opened. We have also worked, but we feel very bad about what happened to us. I can say with certainty that whatever money has been seized is my firm’s money. We have been in the liquor business for more than 100 years, I am giving you all the information about it.
It is noteworthy that on December 6, the Income Tax team had raided several places belonging to Dheeraj Sahu and recovered 30 cupboards full of money. Counting of notes continues from that day. According to the information, Rs 500 crore has been received so far. Apart from the notes, 17 kg of jewelery was also found.
