In Rajasthan, a very surprising case came to light from Ratanada police station in Jodhpur, where a Congress MLA sat on a dharna inside the police station for the release of his nephew. The MLA’s nephew was caught by the police while driving in an intoxicated state, after which challan proceedings were taken against the MLA’s nephew and he was taken to the police station.
The nephew of Meena Kanwar, MLA of Shergarh assembly constituency from the ruling Congress party, was kept in the police station by the police, when MLA Meena Kanwar came to know about this, she talked to her husband Umaid Singh, who is a member of the State Congress Committee, in the police station. Asked to release the nephew. After this Umaid Singh called up Ratanada police station but to no avail. Even after trying a lot, it didn’t work out.
After doing everything, finally MLA Meena Kanwar along with her husband Umaid Singh herself went to Ratanada police station, where they got into a lot of altercation with the policemen. MLA Meena told the policemen that there are children, if they drank a little, then what does it matter, nowadays all the children drink. It was the party, everyone does it. Saying all this to the MLA, a policeman recorded it and put it on social media, in no time this video became viral across the country.
This whole incident happened on Sunday night, in the video you can see that the MLA and her husband are in the police station at midnight. It is clearly visible in the video that Umaid Singh is very angry and asks his wife to sit on the ground. After sometime, both of them got down from their chair inside the police station and started dharna on the ground. Both are also seen having an argument with the policemen. The policeman requests the MLA to talk with some humanity but the MLA and her husband were not listening to each other.

MLA Meena Kanwar says that I had requested you on the phone but you did not listen to me, I had to come to the police station myself. Umaid Singh even went to the extent of saying that just yesterday the SHO of your police station and the rest of the staff were suspended, why have you forgotten? Let us tell you that in the encounter in Jodhpur on the previous day, the Thanedar of Ratanada police station and three policemen were suspended.
After a long debate, finally MLA Meena Kanwar went away with her nephew’s car seized by the police. It is being told that the DCP intervened in the matter, after which the vehicle of the MLA’s nephew was released. Till now no policeman of the police station has given any statement in this matter, no one has told till now who made this video viral on social media.
