Additional fund of Rs 5 lakh each released to the affected districts
The outbreak of lumpi virus is more in the districts of western Rajasthan of the state. Along with Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Sirohi, Bikaner, the lumpi virus is spreading in Bharatpur, Dholpur and some districts of South Rajasthan. Mainly the cows living in big gaushalas are getting more vulnerable. So far more than 1500 cows have died in seven districts of western Rajasthan. Forest Minister Sukhram Vishnoi also inspected several cowsheds on Sunday and Monday. During this, the officers of the Animal Husbandry Department also stayed with them. The operators of the gaushalas say that one after the other, the cows are continuously falling prey to the lumpi virus.
Instructions to collectors, do everything possible to prevent deaths
After the meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Usha Sharma, district collectors have been instructed for special monitoring. Districts where more cases of lumpi virus are being reported. Instructions have been given to make special arrangements for treatment there. Teams of doctors of Animal Husbandry Department have been formed under the supervision of District Collector. These teams will be present at all times for the treatment of cows by staying in Gaushalas. Instructions have been given to keep more infected cows in separate enclosures as the virus is spreading to other cows by coming in contact with an infected cow. (Report – Ramswaroop Lamoror)
