According to the Central Pollution Control Board, air quality across Delhi remained in the severe category on Tuesday. Punjabi Bagh recorded 439, RK Puram 437, Anand Vihar AQI 432, Jahangirpuri 426, Shadipur 424, Okhla 422, DTU 418, Mundka 414, New Moti Bagh 410, Dwarka Sector I 407, ITO 364. The situation of pollution in Delhi is such that people are considering it better not to go out of the house to avoid getting affected by it. The level of air pollution in Delhi on Monday was recorded seven to eight times more than the safe standards.
The state government has announced the re-implementation of its odd-even vehicle scheme after four years in view of the possibility of further deterioration in air quality levels after Diwali. The city’s 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 421 on Monday, a marginal improvement from Sunday’s 454, even as toxic smog continued to blanket the city for the seventh consecutive day, according to the early warning system of the National Air Quality Index. At that time, for a few hours the wind blew from the north-west direction at a speed of 4 to 6 kilometers per hour. Air quality is expected to remain in the severe category from Tuesday to Thursday.

Delhi’s air quality saw a slight improvement on Monday, while the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.5 degrees Celsius, one degree above the season’s average. The minimum temperature was recorded at 13.5 degrees, which is one degree below the season’s average. The weather office has predicted mainly clear sky on Tuesday and the maximum temperature is expected to be 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 14 degrees Celsius. The city recorded relative humidity levels of 35 to 98 percent on Monday.
