In view of the increasing cases of Corona and its new variant Omicron, the Government of Karnataka has issued new guidelines. In the new guidelines, along with a ban on rallies and picketing, the number of guests in the wedding has also been limited. Let’s know what are the new rules regarding Corona in Karnataka…
1- All kinds of rallies, dharnas and protests have been banned. At the same time, not more than 200 people can participate in open space events in the wedding party. Whereas in the closed marriage hall, the number of guests has been limited to 100. Along with this, Covid-compliant behavior and guidelines issued by the state government will have to be followed.
2- In public transport, the Bangalore Metro (BMRCL) will run according to the capacity of the seats. The Chief Commissioner of the BBMP and the Deputy Commissioner of the districts can impose additional restrictions at their discretion. Outside Bengaluru Urban, the district administration has also been empowered to decide whether to close or reopen schools.
3- Intensive surveillance will be done in the border areas of Maharashtra, Kerala and Goa. The guidelines issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department of Karnataka in this regard will be followed.
4Police Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner can use the provisions of Section-144 of CrPC to enforce social distancing.
5- If any person is found violating the guidelines, then action can be taken against him under sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act.
The Karnataka government on Tuesday decided to increase the number of COVID-19 tests in the city to 1.3 lakh per day in view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Bengaluru.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai held an online meeting to take stock of the current Covid situation in the state.
After this, Karnataka Home Minister Arga Janendra said, ‘In view of the increasing cases of Covid-19, the Government of Karnataka has decided to increase the Covid test in Bengaluru from the current 1.1 lakh to 1.3 lakh per day or more. Home isolation patients should be monitored. Till they are completely cured, we need to be careful because today 95 per cent of the people are in home isolation.
According to health department officials, about 1.5 lakh Covid tests are being conducted daily in the state, of which 80 to 90 percent of new cases of infection are being reported in Bengaluru alone. He said that due to this the government had to come forward with special rules especially for Bengaluru. Janendra said that the government has decided to expedite giving booster doses of vaccine to frontline workers like health workers and policemen.
