On Monday evening, a bus was taking the 9th Battalion personnel to the Jewan Police Camp. Meanwhile, a Jammu and Kashmir Police bus was attacked, killing three policemen and injuring 11 others. The attack took place in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar.
Police said the two policemen who died were ASI Ghulam Hassan and SGC (Selection Grade Constable) Safiq Ali. Apart from this, another soldier was martyred on Tuesday. The injured have been admitted to Military Hospital in Badami Bagh, Srinagar for treatment.

Eyewitnesses narrated the incident. He said the terrorists wearing helmets turned the bus on both sides and opened fire. Some terrorists targeted the bus and some kept firing on the wheels of the bus.
Sources said that after firing on all the four tires of the bus, it was punctured by the terrorists. The bus stopped and the terrorists rained bullets on the bus from close range.
‘Glass sieve of bus’
Blood stains were visible on the seats of the bus and were riddled with bullets from all sides, an official said. The windshield of the bus was badly broken from the front side. An eyewitness said that the locals helped the policemen in taking the injured to the hospital.
Terrorists fled taking advantage of darkness
Police officials said that 25 policemen were on board the bus. Kashmir’s Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar said that two to three terrorists were involved in the attack and they fled taking advantage of the darkness. Officials said that a cordon and search operation is going on in the area to nab the terrorists.

The police officer said that the area has been cordoned off. A massive search has been launched to nab the attackers. Information is being received about the involvement of new terrorist organization Kashmir Tigers responsible for the terrorist attack. It is said to be an organization affiliated to Lashkar.

The names of 14 jawans have surfaced. It stars Ghulam Hassan, Sajjad Ahmed, Rameez Ahmed, Vishwambhar Das, Sanjay Kumar, Vikas Sharma, Abdul Majeed and Mudassir. Apart from these, Ravikant, Shaukat Ali, Arshid Mohammad, Shafiq Ali, Satveer Sharma and Adil Ali were also in the bus.
A terrorist ran away even after being shot
Kashmir IG Vijay Kumar briefed the media about the Srignar terror attack. He said that the attack took place at the same time this evening carrying 25 of our jawans. During this, one terrorist was also shot, but he managed to escape.
