Kolkata/Ranchi: A businessman from Kolkata has come under the radar of CID in connection with the cash case of three Congress MLAs from Jharkhand. According to CID sources, the same businessman sent Rs 49 lakh to the MLAs. CID sources claim that the three Congress MLAs, who have since been suspended by the party, were directed by a prominent Guwahati-based politician to contact the absconding businessman. According to sources, Kachhap and Ansari had gone to Guwahati on July 20. He made another visit to the city after leaving Jharkhand on 29 July, where he told colleagues and associates that he was going to Kolkata to buy saris and jerseys for a tribal event.

The CID team started interrogation from Monday on remand from 5 accused including Jharkhand Congress MLA Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kachhap and Naman Vixal Kongadi, arrested with huge cash in Howrah, West Bengal. The arrested three Congress MLAs are being questioned at Bhavani Bhavan in Howrah. During this interrogation, the three MLAs disclosed many things. According to sources, during interrogation it has also been revealed that there were five more Congress MLAs with the arrested MLAs, but they managed to escape. In the investigation of the case by the West Bengal Police and CID, it has also come to the fore that the three MLAs had reached a hotel in Kolkata from the airport. There he was given a room without entering the register. They all reached Kolkata from Assam, Guwahati on 30 July.
