A Jammu and Kashmir Police official said that the bus overturned on the National Highway in Goripora area of Awantipora. Many passengers were injured in this. He said that three of the injured died on the way to the hospital while another succumbed to his injuries at the hospital in Pampore. The condition of some of the injured is said to be serious.
The deceased have been identified as Nasruddin Ansari s/o Islam Ansari r/o Khairawa Tola Pakdi Harditera West Champaran, Bihar, Raj Karan Das s/o Shivu Singhari Gobindpur Kishanganj, Khatia Pichiya, Bihar, Salim Ali s/o Mohammad Alauddin r/o Hakimnagar Chilhapara, Katihar, and Kaisar Alam s/o Sheo Majkurul. Born as Birnagar Sharifnagar Barsoikhat, Katihar, Bihar.
