The way has been cleared for 10 teams to play in IPL 2020. Bidding was done for two new teams in today, in which the names of Ahmedabad and Lucknow have been decided.
BCCI has earned more than 12 thousand crores from these two teams. Rs 7090 crore has been bid by Sanjeev Goenka Group for Lucknow, who has already bought Rising Pune Giants in IPL. While a bid of Rs 5625 crore has been made for Ahmedabad, which has been done by foreign company CVC Group.
Let us tell you that the BCCI was expecting to earn around 7 to 10 thousand crores from the two new IPL teams. But this earning went beyond Rs 12 thousand crores. Sanjeev Goenka Group has surprised everyone by making such a huge bid.
Let us tell you that there were a total of 6 cities in the race of IPL teams. In which the names of Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Cuttack, Dharamsala, Goa, Guwahati, Indore were included. Whoever has the highest bid has the freedom to choose his city and team.
After the same building, BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly said that we are happy that Indian cricket is progressing. This is very important for us.
Several names including RPSG’s Sanjeev Goenka, Manchester United owner Glazer Family, Naveen Jindal, Adani Group, Kotak Group, CVC Partners, Group-M, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were in the race to buy new teams. But in the end, Goenka Group and CVC Partner won.
