Taking lessons from the second wave of Corona, states have started increasing their health infrastructure. In view of the possibility of third wave, the maximum health infrastructure has increased in Maharashtra and Gujarat. At the same time, UP and Bihar are behind in this matter. If we exclude the number of hospitals (Covid centers), then on all other parameters, the highest growth rate has been registered in Rajasthan. These include the number of oxygen plants, ICU beds, ventilators.
A major newspaper found out in 7 states how prepared they are to face the third wave. How much has the number of government and private hospitals (Covid centers) increased, what is the status of availability of oxygen plants, ICUs, ventilators, medicines.
It was found that the highest increase of 54.54% in terms of number of centers in government hospitals for the treatment of Covid has been done in Himachal Pradesh. Maharashtra was at number two and Chhattisgarh at number three. There was no increase in the number of government hospitals and Covid centers in Bihar, whereas in UP only 1.7% hospitals have increased.

The highest number of private hospitals grew in Maharashtra (42.35%), while Gujarat is second with a growth of 41.17%. The lead in UP and Bihar has been zero. The number of oxygen plants increased by 1566.66% in Gujarat. There were 24 plants before Kareena, which increased to 400. Maharashtra had the maximum number of ventilators in the first wave. Here their number has now increased to 12,863. Gujarat was at number two. Here 15 thousand have been lost from 7 thousand ventilators.
Maharashtra stocks 60,000 vials of amphotericin-B injection
The states have claimed to have sufficient stock of amphotericin-B used in diseases like remdesivar and black fungus. Maharashtra has arranged for 60,000 vials of amphotericin-B injection. Himachal Pradesh has started tele-medicine service, in which free medical consultation can be taken from home.
Oxygen plants will be set up from PM Care Fund by August, maximum in UP
In January, 551 oxygen plants were approved from the PM Cares Fund in 162 hospitals in 32 states. Under this, 114 plants have been started in UP so far. Today 3000 metric tonnes of oxygen is being produced in Maharashtra. In Gujarat, 11 plants are going to be set up from PM Care Fund. One of these has already started.
