New Delhi (EMS). Soon India's 'Vande Bharat' train is going to run on foreign tracks also. Government sources said that work is being done on the plan to export these trains. Information regarding 'Vande Bharat' is being sought from many other countries including Chile from Indian Railways.
In this regard, the Ministry of Railways is developing capacity with public and private sector units to indigenously design and manufacture a wide range of components for the train in its own workshops. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, it was a challenge to develop Vande Bharat in our country. The engineers have taken up the challenge very well. I can say with confidence that we will start exporting this train in the coming years.
He said that with efforts to increase the speed of trains to 160 kilometers per hour on New Delhi-Mumbai and New Delhi-Howrah routes, the number of Vande Bharat trains has increased to 82. Railway Minister Vaishnav said that by January 31, 2024, 82 Vande Bharat train services are operational across the country, connecting the states with broad gauge (BG) electrified network. Apart from this, processes like provision of stoppage of train services and introduction of new train services including Vande Bharat, operational feasibility, traffic justification, resource availability etc. are underway.
