The Income Tax (IT) Department has issued summons to some Congress MLAs and party leaders and called them to Delhi. On Sunday, Jhabua MLA Dr. Vikrant Bhuria and Devashish Jararia, who contested the Lok Sabha elections from Congress from Bhind in the year 2019, have confirmed receiving the summons. However, these leaders said that they do not yet know why the summons has been sent. They have been issued summons under Section 131 of the Income Tax Act, which has a rule for presenting evidence.
Dr. Vikrant Bhuria said that we have received the summons. Income Tax has complete information. Lok Sabha elections are near, so this is an attempt to scare. We will not be afraid, because I have nothing to hide. On the other hand, Devashish Jararia said that the central government is harassing the opposition leaders. Fear of ED and IT is being shown, but we are not afraid.
