Shah asked the students to move forward by taking inspiration from personalities like Maharishi Sri Aurobindo, Constitution maker Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Dadasaheb Phalke, who passed out from this University. Realize the dreams of the Maharaja and take the name of India to greater heights in the world. Shah said that Maharaja Sayajirao had given scholarship to Baba Saheb Ambedkar. If he had not given scholarship then how would he have made the best constitution in the world? Shah said that great personalities have come out after studying from this university. It is a privilege to be here. He also thanked Rajmata Shubhanginiraje Gaekwad for inviting her to the convocation ceremony. Shah made a special mention of the Fine Arts Faculty of the University and said that this faculty has its own mark. He also inaugurated the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Design College on the occasion.

Shah said that no one can know his good governance system better than me. The village (Mansa) in which I was born. Prior to that, the princely state of the King of Baroda (Maharaja Sayajirao) used to end in the village. While my village lacked facilities, the facilities in the nearby villages were better. The governance there was good. Shah said that when you have the feeling of doing something good in your heart, then ways to do good emerge.
