Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has announced Haj 2022 at Haj House in South Mumbai on Monday. The online application process has started from Monday itself and the last date to apply is January 31, 2022. Giving more details, Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that people can also apply for Haj through mobile app. Along with this, he has also announced important reforms and enhancement of facilities for the pilgrimage.
Haj Committee of India released the form
Haj Committee of India has released Haj Action Plan 2022. The format of the form has been uploaded on the website hajcommittee.gov.in. This time the government is promoting Vocal for Local. Under which Haj pilgrims will go to Saudi Arabia with indigenous items purchased in India instead of buying sheets, pillows, towels and other items there using foreign currency. These goods will be available at about 50 percent less rate than in Saudi Arabia. Apart from this, the embarkation point for Haj 2022 has been reduced from 21 to 10. Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Cochin, Guwahati and Srinagar will be the 10 starting points for Haj 2022.

People above 65 years will not be able to apply
The embarkation points of Delhi will cover the western districts of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh. Let us tell that every year two lakh Haj pilgrims from India go to Saudi Arabia. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that this new arrangement will help in saving crores of rupees of Indian Haj pilgrims. He said that the selection process of Haj pilgrims will be done as per the COVID-19 protocol and the criteria decided by the Governments of India and Saudi Arabia. Let us tell you, this time people above 65 years of age will not be able to apply for Haj. Apart from this, women in the age group of 45 to 65 years going to Haj without a mahram (male of the family) will be able to apply in groups of 4 to 5.
