Gujarat News: Court sentenced life imprisonment in rape case and threw slippers on judge

According to the information, after finding the girl alone, the culprit kidnapped her on the pretext of getting her chocolates. According to the prosecution, he took the girl to a secluded place where he raped the girl and then strangled her to death.

An FIR was registered against the person under relevant provisions, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, at Hazira police station here. The court took into account the statements of 26 witnesses produced by the prosecution. The court also considered 53 documentary evidences before passing the order.

A similar case had come to the fore in Maharashtra
A similar case had also surfaced in Maharashtra last month where a man accused in a murder case in Thane district of Maharashtra threw a sandal at a judge in a local court. He was furious that he was not being brought to court on the dates of the trial. The incident took place in a court in Kalyan where undertrial prisoner Roshan Ghorpade is facing trial for the murder of his wife and mother, an MFC police official said. He said that during the hearing, Ghorpade picked up the slippers and threw them at the judge. However, the slippers did not hit the judge as he bowed down. The security personnel present in the court room immediately apprehended the undertrial prisoner.
