Although Sarvind is a manager in agrochemical company, but growing vegetables and fruits in pots is his hobby. A few years ago, he made up his mind to plant almond plants in his garden and today his almond plant has grown more than four feet tall.
It was not easy to grow almond plant
Growing almonds at home was not easy for Sarvind. He did a lot of research on the Internet to find ways, read many articles and also watched videos. Then he got success in growing almond plants somewhere. Sarvind told three easy steps to grow a plant at home from store-bought almonds.
He says, “First of all, buy the best quality almonds from the market. Now choose some good almonds from a lot of almonds and soak them in water for 24 hours. To avoid any kind of fungus, put cinnamon in the water.
After this, wrap the almonds in tissue paper and keep them in a cool place. It would be better to close these almonds in an air tight container and keep it in the fridge for a few days. The refrigerator temperature should be between 0 and 10 °C.
fruit of patience
- When the almonds sprout, it’s time to plant them in the soil. This plant needs water once in 10-15 days. By the way, it has to be decided on the basis of the level of moisture in the pot.
- For planting sprouted almonds, mix vermi compost and cow dung in the soil. A mix of sandy and clayey soil also works well for this plant.
- Sarvind has made no extra efforts to protect the plant from pests or insects. This plant of his is growing continuously in every season.
- According to Sarvind, the almond plant should be planted before November. By the time of March, it flourishes well.
