In a video message, Kejriwal said, “The condition of education in Punjab is very bad. Government schools are in very bad condition. There is absolutely no education in government schools. The teachers of Punjab are very good but they are sad. 24 lakh students from poor, dalits and scheduled caste communities study in the government schools of Punjab. Imagine what the future holds for these children. ,
Assembly elections are due in Punjab early next year and the Aam Aadmi Party is trying hard to grab power from the ruling Congress.
It is noteworthy that in recent weeks, ruling Congress and AAP leaders have hit out at each other over the state of education in their schools in Punjab and Delhi respectively.
Earlier this month, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi had termed his Delhi counterpart Kejriwal as an “absolute outsider”, saying he wanted to rule the state and for this he was misleading Punjabis.
Kejriwal released his video message in Punjabi. “Earlier the condition of government schools in Delhi was pathetic but we improved its condition. Now the condition of those schools has improved so much that this year 2.5 lakh students from private schools took admission in government schools. ,
“Shouldn’t the government schools in Punjab be as good as those in Delhi? But Channi sahib says that the schools in Punjab are very good as compared to the national level and they do not need improvement.
Kejriwal asked the people whether they thought the schools in Punjab were the best in the whole country.
