An important cabinet meeting was held today under the chairmanship of PM Modi. Earlier on Tuesday, a meeting of the Council of Ministers was held under the chairmanship of PM Modi. Today many big announcements have been made by the cabinet. Giving information about the decisions taken in the cabinet, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that the government has approved the launch of PM Nutrition Scheme for mid-day meals in more than 11.2 lakh government and government aided schools across the country. The center will run this scheme with the help of the states, although more responsibility and share will be with the central government.
Decision taken to start PM nutrition scheme
Cabinet Minister Anurag Thakur said that in today’s meeting many decisions related to railways and education have been taken. The cabinet has decided to start the PM Nutrition Scheme. Under this scheme, children of more than 11.2 lakh government schools will get free food for the day. This scheme will be run for 5 years and for this the government has decided to spend Rs 1.31 lakh crore. This scheme will replace the existing mid-day meal scheme.

At the same time, Piyush Goyal said that the cabinet has also approved the listing of Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC) through IPO on the stock exchange. Next year it will be listed on the stock exchange. Piyush Goyal also informed that the government will invest Rs 4,400 crore in the next 5 years in ECGC, which is likely to create 59 lakh jobs including 2.6 lakh jobs in the formal sector.
What will be the benefit
Piyush Goyal said that 97 percent of the industries are from MSME sectors. Small scale industries will get the benefit of exporting on a large scale. Of this, Rs 500 crore will be available immediately and Rs 500 crore next year. The process of its listing will also be started soon. We will provide insurance cover to project exports up to Rs 33,000 crore. This will increase the demand for India’s production by about Rs 22,000 crore.
Railway projects got approval
Approval has been given for doubling of Neemuch and Ratlam lines. A total of Rs 1096 crore will be spent for this. Apart from this, it has also been decided to double the Rajkot-Kanalus line. About 1080 crores will be spent to complete this work.
