On the other hand, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said – Due to delay in monsoon, the central government had postponed the start of procurement of paddy and bajra from October 1 this year till October 11… But farmers demand to start procurement soon. are doing. The procurement of crops will start from tomorrow. Let us tell that since morning hundreds of farmers were trying to gherao the houses of MPs and MLAs. At the same time, the police deployed for security could not be successful in stopping the agitated farmers. Police used water cannon to stop the farmers. Crowds of farmers broke the barricades and tried to gherao the residence of CM Khattar. During the protest, the farmers raised slogans against the government.

Significantly, the United Kisan Morcha had on Friday called for protests outside the residences of MLAs in both the states to register their protest over the delay in procurement of paddy crop. The central government on Thursday postponed the procurement of kharif paddy in Punjab and Haryana till October 11 as the maturity of the crop is getting delayed. The procurement operations are carried out by the Food Corporation of India (FCI), the nodal agency of the central government, along with state agencies. Farmers were angry ever since the procurement of Kharif paddy was postponed till October 11. Most of the farmers’ grains are lying in the market and due to the rains, the grains lying in the market are getting spoiled. But now the farmer would have got a big relief from the decision of the government.
