Hamdabad: India’s historical, cultural and religious heritage to be given importance in Navratri festival
-Chief Minister inaugurates Navratri Festival 2023 in Ahmedabad
-Various programs will be held every day till 6 pm from 16th to 23rd October
Ahmedabad: In the presence of Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the Navratri Mahotsav 2023 at Gujarat University grounds in Ahmedabad on Sunday. This nine-day Navratri festival has been organized by the Tourism and Cultural Activities Department of the State Government. In the inauguration ceremony, multimedia cultural program and Maha Aarti was organized on the theme of ‘Shaktirupen Sansthita’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started this Navratri festival in 2011 to give global recognition to Gujarat’s Garba and to promote tourism activities along with Garba culture globally. Under the main attraction of Navratri Mahotsav, state level Garba competition will start at 6 pm every day from 16th to 23rd October on the Ancillary Stage. Apart from this, traditional Sheri Garba program has also been organized from 9 to 12 midnight every day from 16 to 23 October. Here thousands of players will play Garba on the melodious voices of famous Garba singers and the rhythmic beats of musical instruments. Not only this, a beautiful Maha Aarti has also been organized from 16 to 23 October at 11:45 pm.

Theme pavilion, craft market, food stalls, Anand Nagari and Bal Nagari apart from theme-based gates like Sabarmati Ashram and Atal Bridge, Dandiya Dwar, ‘Diya’ and ‘Kalash’ every day from 15 to 23 October from 5 to 12 pm. Including many other main attractions will attract people’s attention.
Various sites and events highlighting the historical, cultural and religious heritage of India such as the Four Vedas, Ram Temple, Modhera Sun Temple, Chandrayaan, Tejas (indigenous fighter aircraft), glimpses into the lives of famous sports players, Maa Adishakti. Tableau presentation of various theme-based sites like Nine Forms, Statue of Unity and Thematic Tunnel has also been organised. Stalls have been set up at the venue with the aim of promoting the handicrafts of Gujarat and its artisans. Through this, citizens will get an opportunity to get acquainted with the unique handicrafts of Gujarat and artisans will also get a better platform to sell their products.
Ahmedabad in-charge and State Health Minister Rishikeshbhai Patel, Minister of Tourism Mulubhai Bera, Minister of State for Sports Jagdish Vishwakarma, Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain, Ahmedabad MPs Kiritbhai Solanki and Hasmukhbhai Patel and several MLAs along with Chief Secretary at the inauguration of Navratri Mahotsav 2023. Raj Kumar and senior secretaries, invitees and a large number of Garba lovers were present.
