Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has reacted to the speech given by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Jaipur on Monday. Gehlot has said about Shah’s address during the BJP’s public representatives conference that ‘I am wondering what has happened to Amit Shah ji. They are coming to Rajasthan and talking nonsense. He said that ‘it seems that the state BJP did not make him aware of the truth or he does not have the courage to tell the truth to Amit Shah ji or he is deliberately trying to mislead the public.’
Gehlot said that Rajasthan has been at the forefront of providing relief to the common man during Covid. Amit Shah ji should have known that during Covid, the state government, bearing Rs 1866 crore, gave Rs 5500 per family to 33 lakh families. The government issued a special package for the children orphaned and widowed women due to Covid. One lakh rupees have been given to orphaned children immediately and five lakh rupees on attaining the age of 18 years, pension of 2500 rupees till the age of 18 years, 2000 rupees per year for school dress and books. Widow women are being given Rs 1 lakh immediate and Rs 1500 per month pension and their children Rs 1000 per month. A special package was announced for children orphaned by Covid and widowed women, in which assistance has been released to 167 orphan children, 8049 widowed women and children of 5485 widowed women by bearing Rs 96 crore. Whereas no immediate assistance has been given in the package released by the Modi government for the orphan children. Orphan children will get assistance on attaining 18 years of age, whereas there is no provision for any assistance for widowed women.
Amit Shah won the hearts of Rajasthanis in Jaipur, said – Proud to be among you
On PM Care ventilators, Gehlot said that instead of raising the issue of ventilators with PM Care, Amit Shah ji should have answered that from whom did the central government buy these bad ventilators playing with the lives of patients? All the states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh complained about the malfunction of these ventilators. It has not come to the fore till today that what happened to those who made these bad ventilators?
On the Home Minister’s statement on petrol-diesel prices, Gehlot said, “Our government reduced VAT on Petrol-Diesel by 2% on January 29 when no other state did. Then the state government suffered a revenue loss of 1000 crores. The state also suffered a revenue loss of Rs 1800 crore due to the reduction of excise duty on November 2 by the Central Government. In public interest, on November 16, VAT on diesel was reduced by Rs 5 and on petrol by Rs 4, due to which the state government suffered a revenue loss of Rs 3500 crore. 6300 crores has been lost so far to the state government due to the price of petrol and diesel, yet we demand that the central government should reduce the price of petrol by Rs 10 and diesel by Rs 15 so that the common man can get relief. The Home Minister of the Modi government, who took petrol and diesel for more than Rs 100, has no right to mislead the public on this issue.
On the remarks of the Union Home Minister on oxygen plants, Chief Minister Gehlot said that ‘Amit Shah ji lied about the oxygen plant. They should listen to the appreciation made by the Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra in the Central Government in the meeting of all the states, and should know the truth about the Rajasthan government setting up all the 51 oxygen plants despite the long distances of the state.
