Full help from the Center to the states for Rabi season- Narendra Singh Tomar

PIB. The National Agriculture Conference for Rabi Campaign 2021-2022 was organized under the chairmanship of Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. Shri Tomar said that for the Rabi season, full assistance is being given to the states from the Central Government. He urged the states to meet Krishi Vigyan Kendras and fix targets for the overall development of agriculture.

Union Minister Tomar said that the Kharif season has been good in the country. The Central Government is fulfilling the expectations of the states in terms of Rabi season. There are many challenges in the agriculture sector, over which we will be able to move forward towards the goal by overcoming them with mutual cooperation. Urging the states to make efforts to reduce the consumption of water, electricity and chemical fertilizers in agriculture, he said that this would benefit the country along with the farms and farmers. He urged to focus on increasing the use of nano urea, which is less costly and maintains better soil health.

Tomar said that the central government is committed to promote the agriculture sector under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister has created many schemes encompassing the totality, so that the production-productivity in agriculture increases and the country gets mastery. The central government is working continuously, which is showing good results. Farmers are working hard.

Tomar said that the Prime Minister has made arrangements to give loans to the farmers at low interest, so that they can do farming without any hassle. On his instructions, farmers are being benefited through Kisan Credit Card. More than 2.25 crore KCCs have been distributed, through which farmers have been given loans of more than Rs.1.25 lakh crore. A very important step has been taken to provide income support to farmers through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, in which Rs 1.58 lakh crore has been provided to 11.37 crore beneficiaries so far. have been given. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is a big security cover, which is benefiting the farmers. Tomar stressed on ensuring the benefits of various schemes reach all the small farmers. He said that the central government is working on a mission mode for pulses-oilseeds-oil palms, which will reduce the dependence on imports. Union Minister of State for Agriculture Shobha Karandlaje also addressed.

Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Aggarwal informed that the target of food grain production is being achieved in the country. The minimum support price for Rabi season has also been announced by the central government ahead of time, so that farmers can get the benefits. Fertilizer Secretary Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi also addressed. Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education and Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research said that the Council is extending all possible cooperation to the farmers, new crop varieties will benefit the farmers. Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. S.K. Through a presentation, Malhotra told the current situation of crops in Kharif and the scenario of the upcoming Rabi season.
